Telesis Academy of Science & Math in West Covina welcomed Lisa and Unicorn Jazz for Family Literacy Night on March 5, 2025. Students and families explored stories, songs, puppets, and creative learning together. These highlights show how a school can turn reading into a community celebration.

Pre-K–Grade 1 • 25 minutes
Storytime & imagination
Meet the characters through stories, songs, and puppets. Read Unicorn Jazz and sing the Friendship Song before the visit to introduce friendship, kindness, and belonging.
Grades 2–3 • 35 minutes
Stories, STEAM & teamwork
Combine stories, music, creative participation, and Q&A. The Thing I Do invites students to discover and share their own interests and talents.
Grades 4–6 • 45 minutes
Be Bold. Be Brave.
Explore innovation, teamwork, making good choices, and the creative work behind books and videos. Give students space to ask questions and imagine what they can create.
These are sample session times. Lisa works with your librarian or school contact to coordinate grade groups and the day’s schedule.

Invite students to draw, write, and share what brings them happiness. Teachers and librarians can use Bee-ing Happy to help children turn their own joyful moments into artwork to share with the class.
